Winter Surrey Cup begins this week and promises to be another exciting and competitive campaign for all of TWC’s six Surrey Cup teams.
Home games this week will see our 1st, 2nd and 5th teams in action with all matches starting at 7.30pm.
TEAM GAMES W/C 13th OCTOBER
- Tuesday 14th : TWC 2 v Grafton 1
- Wednesday 15th : TWC 1 v Horley 1
- Thursday 16th : TWC 5 v Warlingham 1
TWC 1s face last year’s Division 1 winners Horley to whom they narrowly lost out in the final match of the season.
Horley are yet to confirm their side but look like they will be missing their number one player Curtis Malik who secured his first top ten win yesterday against Youssef Soliman in the Silicon Valley Open in California. Curtis plays his quarterfinal today at 8.45pm against world number 5 Victor Crouin.
TWC has retained all last season's players including Jonah Bryant whose current ranking of 16 in the world is a career high, although he will likely push higher next month after his semi-final placing at the Platinum Qatar Classic earlier this month.
19 year old Oliver Dunbar will be joining the team this season and will make his debut on Wednesday. Ranked 148 in the world and with wins over players some 90 places above him Oliver is promising new signing.
