It is fantastic to see the courts busy again and the clubhouse springing back to life after such a long period of closure.
Club Night has returned, inter-club team squash is being planned and the Professional World Tour is fast adding new events to its international calendar, one of which will again be on our courts.
These are all strong signs of a healthy recovery. In summary, the future landscape for Squash now is far brighter and more positive than at any time in the last 15 months.
However, the periods during which heavy restrictions meant that playing was either not very enjoyable or possible are only recent. The Squash committee appreciates that it has been hugely frustrating to pay but not play as we liked and has moved to redress the loss.
For current junior and adult Squash members who renewed their 2020/21 subscription and for new members who joined the club before 21st December 2020 the following will apply:
For adult members:
• A £50 food and beverage credit will be added by the club to your card at the end of week commencing 7th June at no cost to you. It will be non-transferable e.g. it cannot be used for court bookings. It is for food and drinks only and there is no time limit by which this must be used.
• A reduction to the 2021/2022 year’s adult subscriptions (due by 30th September), equivalent to four months membership of each adult member’s category, will be applied. This reduction will be taken from the same subscription level as last year, i.e. membership rates for all categories are again frozen
For junior members:
• All Junior member categories will receive a four month reduction on the 2021/2022 year’s junior subscription.
SECTION FEES ARE AGAIN FROZEN FOR THE 2021/22 SUBSCRIPTION YEAR
PLEASE KINDLY NOTE THAT ANY JUNIOR OR ADULT PAYMENTS RECEIVED AFTER 31ST OCTOBER 2021 WILL BE TREATED AS NEW MEMBERSHIPS AND WILL NOT ATTRACT THE REDUCTION.
THE ABOVE ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING SUBSCRIPTIONS FOR 2021/22 AT THIS TIME (DUE TO COVID-19) RATHER THAN AT THE SQUASH AGM LAST DECEMBER, DOES NOT ALTER YOUR RIGHTS UNDER THE CLUB CHARTER.
