Dear parents/players,
I'm delighted to announce the new Junior box league is now live. I think its a great opportunity to get the players competing more and putting into practice what they train for every week. I hope all of the players find the league enjoyable and benficial towards the development of their games.
To access the league please log into your club account and then go to the leagues tab and click the Junior Tennis link. If you do not know your login details please contact Michaela (admin@twctennis.co.uk) and she will be able to help you.
I think it's important to encourage the players to take responsibilty for the arrangement of their own matches so please use the players' email address where it has been provided for any communication regarding the arrangement of matches. Contact details for each player can be found by clciking on their name.
I have set a deadline of 24th February 2019 for all matches to be completed. That is 16 weeks from now so with the 9 entrants we have that equates to 8 matches per person allowing for one match to be played every other week.
Format
Matches are to be played as the best of three tiebreak sets with a match tie break to 10 points to be played at one set all.
Submitting Results
To submit a match result you will need to log into your club account and then go to leagues tab and click the Junior Tennis link. There is a link to enter your resutls at the bottom of the league.
It is the responsibly of the winning player to input the match result on MyCourts.
The points system for results entry is as follows:
- Participation in the match = 1 point
- Each set won including the match tie break = 1 point
- Match win = 1 point
Therefore, a straights sets win will result in a 4-1 scoreline on MyCourts and a two sets to one win will result in a 4-2 scoreline on MyCourts.
Since MyCourts will not allow us to enter actual match scorelines we recommend that all players keep track of their match results and scorelines.
Once the deadline has passed I will finalise the results and the winner will be presented with a trophy, a yonex bottle and a yonex towel. The league will then restart again with any new entrants added and anyone wishing to withraw taken out.
