SQUASH ; Team news / Call for Vintage players

Dear [[firstname]],

The summer league is coming to an end with only a few fixtures left to be played and there have been some notable successes for TWC.

MEN'S FIRST TEAM

The men's first team narrowly lost out against St George's Hill last night when 3 out of the 4 matches went the full 3-2 distance.

Jordan at first string had a tough opponent in the shape of Paul Broadberry who was one half of a father and son team with dad Robin playing at 4.

Jordan managed to level the match at 2-2 but Paul got away in early in the 5th and the gap couldn't be closed.

Hasnaat stepped up to 2nd string one place above his nominated position and delivered with a convincing 3-0 win over lefty Mick Biggs.

Joss fought back from 2-0 down only to lose out in the fifth 11-8 and Michael Stewart at fourth string also narrowly lost by a similar score line, 11-9 in the last.

Last night's result leaves TWC's 1st team in 3rd place by 4 points.

The final match of summer Division 1 has been changed to a home fixture due to the sad closure of two courts at David Lloyd Hampton.

This last game will be played next Wednesday 29th August and will feature the same players as last night.

MEN'S 2ND TEAM

TWC's 2nd team have comfortably won Division 3B ! This is a superb effort from all players, congratulations to all and especially to captain Luke Rackham. They will be moving up to the second division next summer.

MEN'S 3RD, 4TH and 5TH TEAMS

Our 3rd team have their last match next week and it looks like they will finish in third place and will remain in the same division next year.

The fourths are currently at the bottom of division 4R and have two matches remaining but look like they will avoid relegation

The mens 5th team have a home fixture this evening against Sandown Park after which just one match remains. A 3rd place finish is probable.

LADIES

The ladies have put in a superb effort this season and have narrowly missed out on winning the league by just 5 points finishing as close runners-up.

VINTAGE SQUASH

The TWC Vintage side is a solid team and is now looking for players for the coming winter season which begins in October. Some long term injuries have taken some of the top end players out of action so now stronger players are require to replace them.
