A polite reminder to all members and their guests of a couple of important points that help us keep the courts in excellent condition for all to enjoy.
Please ensure that all guests are properly signed in and paid for before playing. Guest fees are an important contribution to the upkeep of our facilities and we appreciate your cooperation in adhering to this policy.
Secondly, it is every player’s obligation to ensure they leave the courts in good condition – court 4 has been recently damaged.
Worn or disintegrating grips can leave waxy residue which gets worked into the floor during play and causes visible marking. Similarly, inappropriate footwear, including dark-soled shoes can leave scuffs that damage the court surface. Old grips, unsuitable footwear, and poorly maintained equipment all contribute to unnecessary damage.
Unfortunately, these marks cannot simply be cleaned, they require sanding to remove which is both time-consuming and costly for the club. This is damage the club has to repair and ultimately may mean costs have to increase to cover ongoing maintenance.
Please can all members to take a moment to ensure that theirs and those of their guests' grips are in good condition and are wearing appropriate non-marking court shoes. These small checks make a significant difference in preserving the quality of our courts.
