The first team will continue their campaign to be winners of Division One tonight starting at 7.30pm.
A convincing win in the first match of the season last week at Horley was critical to TWC 1s remaining in the running to be the best team in the Surrey Cup and they duly delivered.
Horley finished the first half top of Division 1 by 16 points leaving TWC requiring not just a win but a win by a significant margin or else the gap could not be closed over the forthcoming second half.
Jonah was on first and immediately set the tone for the night with a fast 3-0 win over Perry Malik and World number 23 Greg Lobban quickly dispatched Noah Meredith by the same scoreline. Oli Dunbar then secured the fixture with a 3-1 over Heston Malik.
The job of limiting Horley’s points was left to Sam Buckley, who was making his first team debut, and Ayaan Vaziralli. Despite being favourite Sam went down 3-1 to Bailey Malik but Ayaan completed the task by beating Jake Sim-Baskar 3-1 leaving Horley with just 5 points from the five matches. Now only four points separate the leading teams; Horley, Surbiton and TWC who lie in third.
Tonight’s match is against Colets and will feature Irish International Sam Buckley at first string and world number 6 Satomi Watanabe for TWC.
