SQUASH: TEAMS / CAMPS / COURTS / KIT

Dear [[firstname]],

Now that the Squash season is properly underway it is fantastic to see the courts being so well used both during the day and in peak time, a clear sign of a thriving section.

Junior sessions and school groups have returned as has team squash which means busy courts during the day followed but some great squash to watch in the evenings.

COURT CLEANING

Busier courts mean that the court floors will collect more dust and rubber deposits from squash trainers requiring the courts to be swept more often.

From next week the court cleaning will become more frequent to ensure they do not gather dust and become slippery. Until then the coaching staff will be helping to maintain the courts.

KIT / NEW FLOORS

The flooring on courts 3 and 4 is new and if well maintained should last in excess of 20 years. There are, however, already some marks that will only be removed by sanding. This reduces the life expectancy of the floor.

Some of the marks (which are also present in the corner of court 1) are made by an old, disintegrating grip. Small parts of the grip come off during play, fall to the floor and are then inadvertently trodden into the floor which leaves waxy marks.

Please can all members to kindly check their footwear and racket grips as well as those of any guests ahead of play.

Thank you in advance for this.
