Dear Members,
After an extensive review of the self-employed tennis coach contracts at the club, please note the following which will apply to self-employed tennis coaches from 1st March 2023:
As of 1st March 2023, all tennis coaches will be charged £7 for any courts cancelled with less than 24 hours notice.
As a matter of courtesy to the coaches, if any members cancel a coaching session with less than 24 hours notice, a cancellation fee is due to the coach - the amount is to be agreed between the member and the respective coach.
For transparency to coaches and members, please note the booking rules as below:
Courts available for Service Providers for Private Lessons
Service Providers may book any courts for private lessons subject to the following conditions (which can be amended by the Tennis Committee at any time and without notice):
(1) Coaches may book courts up to 28 days in advance. They must enter the name of their client in the booking sheets at least 48 hours in advance. The courts that can be booked by a Service Provider are given below (see points 3, 4 and 5):
(2) Coaches must cancel courts at least 24 hours in advance of the booked time, failing which that time will count towards the total rental.
(3) Grass Courts must not be used by Service Providers for private lessons at any time.
(4) Summer (when the dome is down): the Service Provider may book:
(a) Courts 8, 11, and 16 at any time, provided Court 16 is not being used for social or other tennis programmes
(b) The Service Provider can book any one of the above courts on the day after 8am, provided that i) no more than two service providers are coaching at any one time during off-peak hours, and ii) no more than one service provider is coaching at any one time at peak hours
(5) Winter (when the dome is up): the Service Provider may book:
(a) Court 8 at any time
(b) Court 11 at off-peak times
(c) Court 11 at 6-7pm during Mon to Friday and at 8am-2pm Saturday and Sunday
(d) Court 16 at any time, provided it is not being used for social or other tennis programmes
(e) Court 11 on the day after 8am
(6) Members are not permitted to book courts in their name for coaching.
