JUNIOR SQUASH : New Season, New Plans

Dear [[firstname]],

We hope this message finds you well and ready for the new Junior Squash season at TWC.

We have a series of new projects and initiatives planned to make our junior programme even more engaging to keep younger members motivated all year round.

If you would like more information on any of the below please email: director@twcsquash.co.uk

SEASON START DATES

The coaching team is looking forward to welcoming back all our junior players starting this coming Friday 20th and Saturday 21st September.

Juniors should please come along at the same time they attended last season. The coaches will be assessing players in the first two weeks to ensure that they are best placed in the most suitable groups.

MINI-SQUASHERS

Our new training programme, successfully trialled in March, for young players aged 2-5 years and aimed at nurturing the next generation of squash champions, will restart in the later part of October.

Two x 30 minute sessions will run on Saturday mornings from 8.45 to 9.15 and 9.15 to 9.45. Membership is not necessary to attend.

If you are keen for your child to get into squash this is the perfect opportunity to get them on court in a fun and social environment. Parents are very welcome to join-in!

JUNIOR SOCIAL LEAGUE

It has been rewarding to see more of our juniors playing outside of their weekly group sessions. The coaching team are always keen to encourage more squash and will be setting up a new, internal social league starting October.

Members of the league will be able to arrange practice sessions or friendly matches with one another at times of mutual convenience.

Match scores will not be registered. The league will be a readily available list of players, with a guide to ability and who are simply keen to play more squash.

FREE SCHOOL SQUASH

The TWC coaching team is expanding its reach with new introductory squash sessions for local schools.

This is a fantastic opportunity to encourage more young people into the sport we love and introduce squash to the sporting curriculum of your child’s school.

Any local school can receive taster sessions on school premises with our portable “squash courts” or receive up to eight weeks of squash coaching at TWC.

If you feel that your child’s school could benefit from a broader choice of sport or a fun new afterschool activity complete with pathway into our junior programme please email Stacey.

FACILITY UPGRADES

The club is investing in our facilities to ensure that we continue to provide the best possible experience at TWC.

Players can look forward to newly refurbished courts and enhanced amenities in the coming months. All court walls are scheduled to be cleaned, the floors sanded and the corridor outside the courts along with the changing rooms will be repainted.

The existing door on court five is to be replaced with a new glass one that will open up the end court and provide our coaches a clear view of the activities they set up on there.

FREE INDIVIDUAL LESSONS, DISCOUNTED CAMPS, FREE PLAY FOR PARENTS

A reminder that Junior Improver Plus members receive a range of benefits as part of their membership.

Full details of the benefits of each membership category can be found here on the club’s website: https://www.twcsquash.co.uk/membership

October half-term camps

Every school break the club runs squash camps for juniors aged 8 to 16 years which are suitable for players of every ability including those who have never played before

This October’s camps can be booked here: https://www.twcsquash.co.uk/juniors-programme

The TWC coaching team and I look forward to another exciting year of junior squash starting in just a few days’ time.

Kind regards,

Stacey Ross
Squash Director
